By LP Chase

NEW: from Blue Marlin Publications
Elliot Stone and the Mystery of the Summer Vacation Sea Monster will have you on the edge of your seat as Elliot spends his summer vacation at Lake Bomoseen, Vermont.

Bummed about missing Cassie's awesome fourth grade graduation party, and leaving his best friend Jake while he's away, Elliot is more than twisted about going to the lake. Especially when he finds out they're staying for a whole month!

That is, until he gets there and meets an interesting new neighbor. A totally cute girl named Marley. And not only that! There's another surprise in store for Elliot—one that turns his whole summer vacation attitude upside-down and back again. Be on the lookout and be the first to get a copy!

Book Excerpt

"This is pointless." I pulled in my fishing line, and as I turned the reel crank, I got a tug. Then it started spinning by itself. Click, click, click, click. "Did you just see that?!" I looked up at Marley and Jake. I tried holding it still, but it turned faster and faster until it was buzzing like crazy. "Elliot, stop," Dad called out. "You're probably tangled on something. Don't pull."
"I'm not! It's not," I shouted. The line moved quickly toward the back of the boat. I tried to keep my balance as I followed where the line was going. "Help! I can't stop it."
"What is that?" Jake screamed. Marley waved me over to her. "Give-it-to-me, give-it-to- me," she shouted. "You're probably just stuck like your dad said. You don't want it to get tangled around the propeller."
The clicking slowed down and I managed to keep the pole still while I handed it over to Marley. Just as she took it, the line tightened. Then the pole bent like a horseshoe.
"WHOA! Elliot, what have you got on here?" she yelled.

Book Reviews

Finally, for lots of fun, there's Elliot Stone and the Mystery of the Summer Vacation Sea Monster by Carl DiRocco ($8.99, Blue Martin Publications, softcover) in which Elliot, unhappy to be missing events and friends far from the Vermont family cabin on Lake Bomoseen, thinks he may have spotted a sea monster and meets Marley "a totally cute girl next door" that turns the summer into an adventure.
